This is a partial listing of beneficiaries of our Mustang Raffle Fundraising and is subject to change annually.

Local Organizations

Bailey’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department – Financially support the organization the purchase of equipment and operating expenses for local volunteer fire department.

Fairfax County Police Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) – Volunteer time to be involved with CAC which enhances communication among residents and FCPD by offering residents a chance to dialogue with members of local police districts.

Final Salute – Financially support the organization that provides homeless female Veterans with safe and suitable housing.

Fisher House of Fort Belvoir – Financially support the local comfort home near Fort Belvoir where military families stay – at no cost – while a loved one is receiving treatment at the Fort Belvoir hospital.

National Military Family Association – Financially support programs to assist military families – spouses and children.

Wounded Warriors Association – Financially support and volunteer at George Mason University Spinal Injury Program.

Youth Programs (New Generations)

Career Day – Rotarians work with middle and high school students to discuss various career options available to students.

Ethics Day – Rotarians work with middle and high school students to consider ethics in the workplace and everyday life.

Fairfax County Police Explorer Troop 1742 – Financially support police-sponsored Explorer Scout Troop to promote leadership development and positive training for youth who want to pursue a career in law enforcement.

High School Student Scholarships – Provide college scholarships to graduates of Justice High School.

Interact Club – Provide support and mentoring of Justice High School students involved in the Rotary Interact Club and leadership development.

Justice Pyramid Fair – Founded and continue to organize and run the annual program preparing elementary, middle, and high school students for school; over 4,500 students served in 2018.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) – Provide scholarships for local high school students to attend RYLA camp, recognizing achievements of young people consistent with the ideals and ethics of Rotary.

Literacy

Dictionary Project – Provide dictionaries to third graders in local elementary schools (e.g., Bailey's Crossroads).

Outstanding Educational Leadership Awards – Recognize teachers and other educational leaders for significant contributions to the education and development of students at all levels.

Speech, Essay and Music Contests – Sponsor Rotary District speech, essay and music contests at local high and middle schools to promote the themes of Rotary, including Service Above Self.

Community Service

Bailey's Crossroads and Area Food Delivery – Address food insecurity by providing Thanksgiving food delivery to area needy families involving Elementary and High School students and by providing 15,000 packaged meals for students.

Christmas Toy Program – Financially support purchasing toys for hospitalized and underprivileged children at Christmas.

Community Cleanup Project – As the sponsor organization, organize community organizations and the Justice High School Interact Club to lead the clean-up of Culmore/Bailey’s Crossroads communities.

Fairfax County Parks Foundation – Support outreach programs of Hidden Oaks Nature Center and Green Spring Gardens.

Friends of Fairfax Animal Shelter – Financially support medical care, food, and provide supplies to support shelter care for the animals in their care.

Holiday Gift Program for Fairfax County Elderly – Partner with Fairfax County Agency on Aging to financially a holiday season program to provide gift cards to needy area elderly citizens.

International Service

The Rotary Foundation – Financially support Rotary International to help those in need worldwide through projects related to health and hunger, water and sanitation, literacy, maternal health, and reducing child mortality.

Domestic and International Disaster Relief – Financially support the Rotary Shelter Box and other disaster relief programs.

Eradication of Polio – Financially support of global PolioPlus program for the world-wide eradication of Polio.

Fistula Foundation – Financially support an organization that works to end the suffering caused by the childbirth injury of obstetric fistula.

MicheLo Project – Volunteer and financially support the organization that provides free vocational and profession development opportunities for orphans and Special Education teachers in Swaziland including free dental health care, adaptive physical education, school instruction, and inclusive community education.
